These can be found and downloaded from the Bar Council website.

Direct Access

Samuel Waritay is also accredited to undertake public access work. A Public Access barrister is a barrister who has had extra training and who can be hired directly by members of the public. Not all cases are suitable for direct access. For further information about Direct Access, please view the BSB Public Access Guidance for Clients.

Our Services and Fees

Barristers are generally self-employed and share premises and administration with other barristers. Each barrister is responsible for his or her work. Every barrister remains ultimately responsible to the client for the work they undertake. We will agree a timescale for work to be completed when instructed. Generally our aim is a 14 day turnaround for paperwork. This will be subject to unforeseen circumstances such as another case over running in court or the barrister’s illness.

Fee Models

Fees are considered on a case-by-case basis for example on the basis of urgency, complexity, geographical location of the client and court. Sometimes accommodation and travel costs must be factored in. We charge in two main ways

Fixed Fee

We will consider how much work is to be done in total and how much this will cost. We will then give you an overall figure that will need to be paid for the work. This will normally be payable in advance. Sometimes work takes longer than anticipated or becomes more complex we will contact you to amend the agreement.

Hourly Rate

This will be a set rate for each hour of work done. The total number of hours will be tracked and this will be the final cost. Clients should expect to pay from £350 - £700 per hour plus VAT.
